LAUSANNE, Switzerland, June 1. IN a letter obtained by Swimming World, Julio Maglione has confirmed that FINA President Mustapha Larfaoui will concede his re-election campaign, and support Maglione's candidacy for the elections to be held July 24 at the World Championships in Rome.
Maglione state the running unopposed "is of enormous importance and great benefit to the unity and future of FINA, which must continue working without breaks and close-knit for its development and progress of the Swimming."
Maglione also has begun the push to name Larfaoui as FINA President Emeritus to recognize his contributions to the organization.
