Julia Poole to Stay in State With Verbal Commitment to NC State
Julia Poole has announced her verbal commitment to the NC State Wolfpack. The senior at Middle Creek High School in Apex, North Carolina will give a breaststroke and IM boost to the Pack.
Poole, who swims for Marlins of Raleigh, had Olympic Trials cuts in both breaststroke and IM events. In short course, she was NCHSAA 4A state champion in the 200 IM for Middle Creek.
Poole’s top times:
200/400 IM 1:59.66/ 4:18.58
100/200 Breaststroke 1:02.62/ 2:13.99
At last February’s ACC Championships, Poole would have finished 16th and 13th in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Kayla Brunbaum was the only Wolfpack swimmer to finish higher in the breaststroke events, though she will have graduated by the time Poole moves to Raleigh.
Poole would have also scored in the A final in both IMs.
