Joseph Radde Will Remain In State With Commitment to Indiana Hoosiers
NEW COMMIT: Granger, Ind. native Joseph Radde has opted to remain in-state for his college career after committing to Indiana University as a member of the Hoosiers’ Class of 2025.
He will join Finn Brooks, Nichita Bortnicov, Aidan Reagan, Rafael Miroslaw, Jackson Carlile, Luke Barr, Sean Swift, Josh Matheny, Lucas Piunti, and Mason Carlton in Bloomington in the fall of 2021.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am proud to announce my commitment to Indiana University. I chose Indiana for its academic opportunities, team culture, and amazing coaching staff. I am very thankful for my parents, coaches, and teammates for supporting me in and out of the pool. Go Hoosiers!”
A versatile swimmer, Radde does his club swimming with Irish Aquatics and most recently competed at the OLY Winter Invite earlier this month where he earned 10 new best times after racing three events at the Toyota U.S. Open. In Summer 2019, he finaled in three events at Indiana LCM Seniors.
His best times include:
- 50 free – 20.70
- 100 free – 45.73
- 200 free – 1:41.52
- 100 back – 48.90
- 200 back – 1:48.89
- 100 breast – 56.50
- 100 fly – 49.25
- 200 IM – 1:52.05
Also competing for Penn High School, Radde placed sixth in the 100 fly and 10th in the 100 back as a junior at the Indiana State Championships. He also led off the winning 4×50 free relay in 20.86 and the fifth-place 4×50 medley relay in 22.03.
Under head coach Ray Looze, Indiana finished third overall in the team standings at the 2020 Big Ten Championships.
