NEW COMMIT: Fredericksburg, Va. native Caroline Storen has handed her verbal commitment to Johns Hopkins University and will arrive in Baltimore next fall.

Storen does her club swimming with Rappahannock Y Swim Team and capped off her summer long course season with four best times and a 23rd-place finish in the 100m back at Virginia LCM Seniors. Last winter, she placed eighth in the 200 back at Virginia SCY Seniors before going on to race seven events at NCSAs.

Also competing for Courtland High School, Storen is a six-time Virginia 4A State Championship finalist. She finished fourth in the 100 back and 11th in the 200 free as a junior after racing to eighth in the 200 free and 11th in the 100 free during her sophomore season.

She told Swimming World:

”I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim for Johns Hopkins!! I am so thankful to be a part of such an amazing team with such passionate and dedicated individuals. I am so grateful to my family, coaches, and teammates who have supported me along this journey. I can’t wait to continue to improve athletically and academically. I truly am in love with this university and its culture! Go Blue Jays!!!”

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 28.03
  • 100 back – 57.34
  • 200 back – 2:02.48
  • 200 IM – 2:09.60
  • 200 free – 1:52.03

When she suits up for the Blue Jays as a member of the class of 2024, Storen will add her talents to training groups that’ll include Sydney OkuboCarmela Irato and Mikayla Bisignaini. Even with just under a year of club swimming still to go, she’ll make an immediate impact as her best times already rank near the top of their lineup.
