Jenny Mensing Lights Up 200 Back With 2nd-Ranked Time
Jenny Mensing put up the top time of the night with a sizzler in the women’s 200-meter back at the German Nationals.
Jenny Mensing snatched second in the world in the women’s 200-meter back with a swift 2:08.48. That swim put her behind only Emily Seebohm’s 2:06.69 this year. Lisa Graf took second tonight in 2:10.37 with Sonnele Ozturk rounding out the top three in 2:11.27.
Franziska Hentke jumped to fifth in the world rankings in the women’s 200-meter fly with a time of 2:07.05. Martin van Berkel finished second in 2:10.39 with Tina Ruger earning third in 2:12.64.
Annika Bruhn led the way in the women’s 100-meter free with a time of 54.87. Alexandra Wenk took second in 55.25 with Helen Scholtissek tying Anna Dietterle for third with matching 55.55s.
Paul Biedermann snagged the men’s 100-meter free title in 49.24. Christoph Fildebrandt claimed second overall in 49.68 with Marco Di Carli placing third in 49.87.
Alexander Kunert won the men’s 200-meter fly in 1:57.36 with Markus Gierke touching just behind in second with a 1:57.50. Johannes Tesch took third in 1:58.76.
Vanessa Grimberg took home the women’s 100-meter breast in 1:08.12 with Laura Simon placing second in 1:09.00 after winning the 50 breast yesterday. Caroline Ruhnau turned in a third-place time of 1:09.35.
Christian von Lehm touched out Marco Koch, 1:00.42 to 1:00.53, for the men’s 100-meter breast title. Hendrik Feldwehr placed third in 1:00.65.
Christian Diener won the men’s 200-meter back title in 1:59.65. Felix Wolf placed second in 2:00.50 with Max Claussen taking third in 2:00.69.
Theresa Michalak topped the women’s 200-meter IM in 2:13.06. Maxine Wolters lowered a German junior record with a 2:13.98 for second while Marlene Huther took third in 2:14.05.
Philip Heintz claimed the men’s 200-meter IM in 2:00.03 with Kevin Wedel earning second in 2:00.84. Johannes Hintz downed a German junior mark with a third-place 2:01.51.
Isabelle Harle captured the women’s 1500-meter free in 16:06.82 for second in the world behind only Lauren Boyle’s 16:06.72. Sarah Kohler took second in 16:07.33 for third in the world with Leonie Beck clocking a German junior record with a 16:07.70 for fourth in the world.
Florian Vogel took home the men’s 800-meter free in 7:52.57 for fourth in the world, while Soren Meissner touched second in 7:53.37 for seventh in the world. Ruwen Straub wound up third in 7:56.26.
