MINNEAPOLIS—Humphrey Pruett and James Tidd both succeeded in breaking records at Minnesota Class A and AA State Championships during preliminaries.
Humphrey Pruett of Breck Blake high school broke two records during today’s Minnesota Class A State Championships preliminaries. The senior succeeded in taking down both the Minnesota All-Time and Class A records in the 100 breaststroke. Dashing to a swift 54.75 Pruett’s time takes down Max Cartwright’s 2011 time of 55.44 for the Minnesota All-Time record and Matt Hoyland’s 2008 record of 56.87 for the Class A record. He also qualified for an AAA time.

During the preliminary session of Minnesota’s Class AA State Championships James Tidd of East Ridge high school successfully took down the 100 free record twice. The senior swam to a swift 44.93 in the individual 100 free to take down Jordan Watland’s 1998 record of 44.96. Tidd later led off East Ridge’s 400 free relay team with a speedy 44.81.
