Jacob Troescher Commits to Colorado Mesa With Conference A-Final Worthy Times
NEW COMMIT: Futures qualifier Jacob Troescher of Boise, Idaho, has announced his commitment to Colorado Mesa University and will arrive on campus at the start of the 2021-22 season.
He will join Fort Collins, Colo. native John Walgast as a member of the Mavs’ Class of 2025.
He told Swimming World:
“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Colorado Mesa University this fall. I would like to thank God, my Family, my Coaches, and my friends for all their loving support along my journey. I look forward to working with Coach Wender and Coach Hastings for the next 4! Mavs Up!”
Troescher does his club swimming with Boise YMCA and most recently earned five best times at the Virtual YMCA Swimming Festival last month. In February 2020, he placed fifth in the 50 breast, 200 breast, and 200 IM at the Northwest Region YMCA Championships.
His best times include:
- 100 breast – 58.55
- 200 breast – 2:09.80
- 100 free – 48.87
- 500 free – 4:41.83
- 200 IM – 1:56.16
- 400 IM – 4:14.67
Also competing for Bishop Kelly High School, Troescher is a four-time Idaho State Championship finalist. The meet was held virtually during his senior year, and he finished fourth in the 200 IM and fifth in the 100 breast as a junior.
Troescher is a big pickup for the Mavericks, who are fresh off an RMAC Championship title. He would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100/200 breast as well as the B-final of the 200 IM at the conference meet.
