Jack Dahlgren Reunites With Sister With Verbal Commitment to Mizzou
NEW COMMIT: Minnesota state record holder Jack Dahlgren has given his verbal commitment to swim for the University of Missouri. The rising senior is a two time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. He swims for the Aquajets under Coach Kate Lundsten and for Chanhassen High School for Coach Megan Hawker. Dahlgren will join his sister Kylie at Mizzou. Kylie will be a junior this year. The two will share the Columbia campus for one year.
Dahlgreen said,
“After much heartfelt thought and consideration, I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to further my education and swimming career at the University of Missouri! Watching the success over the last couple years of not only the program, but more importantly my sister, Kylie, proved to be enough to convince me to join the Tigers.
I want to thank my family, friends and coaches for helping me reach the goal of swimming at a Top Division 1 program and being there for me throughout this entire process. Go Tigers!!”
His sophomore year Dahlgren was the Minnesota High school runner up in the 500 freestyle (4:32.64). He also posted a 1:40.00 to finish third in the 200 freestyle. In 2017 Dahlgren won the 100 backstroke in 48.28, a new state record time. He also picked up a silver in the 100 fly (48.85).
Dahlgren’s swimming has really come on in the past few years. He is now a Minnesota LSC record holder in two individual events (the 17-18 100 and 200 backstrokes) and as a member of seven relays. He’s dropped impressive amounts of time in many of his top events.
His best SCY times are (2017, 2016, 2015):
- 100 Free: 44.92, 45.88, 49.06
- 200 Free 1:38.60, 1:40.00, 1:44.08
