“It’s Just Swimming…”

Eighteen-year-old Katie McLaughlin shows that her laid-back approach to the sport she loves can breed some serious speed! McLaughlin proved to be a valuable member of Team USA at this summer’s World Championships winning a gold medal in the women’s 800 freestyle relay and being an integral piece of the mixed 400 medley relay that took the silver.

Swimming World’s Annie Grevers paints a magnificent picture of how McLaughlin came to be the talented swimmer she is today. With a talented swim-mom, former football player of a dad, and a water polo star for a brother the McLaughlin household is the perfect environment for a rising swim star. To learn more about how McLaughlin got her start in the sport and to hear commentary from her family and coach, Bill Rose, check out the October issue, available now!
