Italian National Junior Teamer Tanni Stevenato Picks Stanford For 2026

NEW COMMIT: Stanford University has added an international flair to its Class of 2026 recruiting, having recently received a verbal pledge from Tanni Stevenato of Venezia, Italy.

She will join Taylor Klein and Clare Watson on The Farm as a member of the Cardinal’s Class of 2030.

Regarding her commitment, she told Swimming World:

“I’m beyond grateful and thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at the university of Stanford. I want to thank my dad, my mum, my coach, all the people who supported me along the way and a special thank to Greg, Katie and Kim for giving me this amazing opportunity. Go Cards”

At the 2024 European Junior Championships, Stevenato advanced to the semifinals in both the 50m and 100m free. She placed 12th and 15th, respectively, in those events. She also competed at the 2023 World Junior Championships.

In SCM, her best times include:

  • 50m free – 24.99
  • 100m free – 54.52

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 50 free – 2.51
  • 100 free – 49.11

Last year, Stanford finished third at the Pac-12 Championship and fifth at the NCAA Championship. The Cardinal now compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
