Iowa State Finalist Lauryn Schieffer Verbally Commits to Omaha
NEW COMMIT: Lauryn Schieffer has verbally committed to the University of Nebraska Omaha. Schieffer is a senior at Southeast Polk High School in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, and trains with Greg Temple and the Des Moines Swimming Federation.
Schieffer is a two-time USA Futures qualifier, a three-time high school state qualifier, an Iowa High School First Team All-State Swimmer in 2016 in the 500 Freestyle and an Iowa High School Second Team All-State Swimmer in 2014 and 2015.
At the 2016 State meet she touched in 5:02.80 for bronze in the 500 free. She also stopped the clock in 1:54.66 for eighth in the 200 free. Her double relay duty included anchoring the team’s 200 freestyle (24.60) and 400 freestyle (53.41) relays.

Schieffer will make the move to Omaha next fall along with Sydney Haynes.
