Morgan Grout has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Iowa. Grout swims for Carmel Swim Club in Indiana. The high school senior is a freestyler.
Grout’s best times are:
100 Free 51.75
200 Free 1:50.22
500 Free 4:57.81
1000 Free 10:15.10
Grout was a point scoring part of Carmel’s historic 30th consecutive high school state title last year. She finished eighth in the 500 with a 4:59.29 and was 16th in the 200 freestyle in 1:52.53.
The Hawkeyes were eleventh at the 2016 Big Ten Championships. Individually, Grout is a bit outside conference scoring range right now. Her best 200 freestyle likely would have put her on the team’s 800 freestyle relay last season where the Big Ten splits ranged from 1:48.84 to 1:52.10.
