TYR has provided me with the opportunity to fulfill that dream, I now have a world-class suit and company behind me and I think anything is possible. TYR will also give me an opportunity to influence and impact thousands of young swimmers’ lives, that is something that I look forward to doing throughout the country” expresses Mary DeScenza.
DeScenza is undoubtedly one of the best butterfliers in the world. DeScenza won the 100 yard and 200 yard butterfly events at the 2006 NCAA Championships. She became the first woman to win the 200 yard butterfly for four consecutive years. DeScenza also led off the 400 yard freestyle relay team that finished second and set the American record with a time of 3:13.38.
TYR’s heritage encompasses the best swimmers of all times. 4-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Yana Klochkova, 2-Time Olympic Silver Medalist Martina Moravcova, 2-Time Olympic Silver Medalist Erik Vendt, 1976 Olympic Swimming Team Captain Steve Furniss and 1972 Olympic Bronze Medalist Hans Fassnacht are among the TYR community.
