Kristof Milak of Hungary continued to work his way through records, with his second World Junior Record (WJR) of the day.

After lowering the 100 fly WJR in prelims to a 51.23, the Hungarian teenager returned to semi-finals ready for more. Milak delivered a sizzling 50.77 to finish well beneath his previous record of 51.23 and to qualify third overall for tomorrow night’s final behind Caeleb Dressel (50.07) and James Guy (50.67).

Splits:

  • Milak (2017 – semi-finals): 23.72, 27.05 = 50.77
  • Milak (2017 – prelims): 23.90, 27.33 = 51.23
