Hilary Caldwell Solidifies Spot Atop 200 Back World Rankings
The 2017 Canadian Swimming Trials continued with three swimmers posting FINA ‘A’ cut qualifying times.
Olympians Hilary Caldwell and Dominique Bouchard posted top qualifying times in the women’s 200 back. Both Olympians swam beneath the FINA ‘A’ cut of 2:11.53, putting them in solid positions to qualify for Budapest later this summer. Caldwell posted a 2:08.48, followed by Bouchard’s 2:11.23, to return as the top seeds. Caldwell’s time solidified her spot atop the world rankings as she improved upon her 2:08.68 from the Arena Pro Series in Indianapolis. Kylie Masse posted a 2:11.99 to return as third and flirt with the chance of a FINA ‘A’ cut.
