PHOENIX, Arizona, September 18. WE will find out in a few hours what the qualifying times will be for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. Will they be faster than 2012? Will they get slower? Or, will things stay the same?
We’ve compiled a list of the athletes who could count themselves as Olympic Trials qualifiers in each of the 13 women’s events if USA Swimming keeps the same standards as the 2012 meet. The qualifying period for the Olympic Trials will go back to June 30, the first day of this summer’s junior national championships, so we’ve listed only a swimmer’s fastest time since that date.
An average of 79 swimmers per event have swum faster than the 2012 standards in the past seven weeks. Where do you rank? Browse through the spreadsheet below to see where your times place among American men.
The 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifying standards will be announced in a live webcast from the USAS Convention, starting at 2 p.m. Eastern time. Click here to view the webcast.
