NEW COMMIT: Duke University has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season from Heather White out of Bellevue, Washington. White grew up in the Philippines and represents the Philippine Swimming Federation. She’s a member of the Philippine National Junior Team.

She will join Scarlett McGlinchey in Durham as a member of the Blue Devils’ Class of 2029.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Duke University! I have been blessed with the endless support from all my coaches, friends, and family who have stuck by me throughout my journey. And to my parents, I would not have this opportunity without their unconditional support and sacrifice. Thank you to the coaching staff and the team at Duke for making me feel welcome and directing me throughout this process. GO BLUE DEVILS!”

White trains year-round with Bellevue Club Swim Team. She placed 12th in the 100m breast this fast summer at Pacific Northwest Long Course Championships before going on to final in the 50m/100m free at Speedo Summer Championships.

While representing the Philippines, White swam at the 2023 Junior World Championships. There, she raced the 50m free, 100m free, 200m free, 100m fly and led off the 4x100m mixed free relay.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.48
  • 100 free – 50.38
  • 100 fly – 55.53

Duke placed fifth at the 2024 ACC Championships and 16th at the 2024 NCAA Championships, its highest finish at the national meet.
