Gwinnett’s Anna Jahns Commits to N.C. State
LILBURN, Georgia, September 25. ANNA Jahns, the second-ranked recruit out of the State of Georgia according to CollegeSwimming.com, has decided to provide N.C. State with some punch in the distance freestyle events after her senior season at Brookwood High School in Snellville.
Jahns, who trains at Gwinnett Aquatics, had a breakthrough summer with a 9:48.49 in the 1000-yard freestyle and a 16:29.11 in the 1650-yard freestyle at Eastern Zones this summer. She also had a strong long course season the past two year with an 8:47.18 in the 800-meter free at summer nationals, and a 16:53.81 in the 1500-meter free at the 2013 junior nationals.
“I just loved the coaching staff, the school and the team,” Jahns posted on CollegeSwimming.com about her decision. “I really felt at home with the girls and I cannot wait to be in Raleigh next year!”
Jahns can also make an impact in the shorter distance events with a 4:47.50 in the 500-yard free. She’s also the reigning Georgia 6A state champion in the event.
