LONDON, England, October 1. GREAT Britain has had moderate success at the past two short course world championships, winning seven medals across the 2010 and 2012 events. Back in 2008 when Great Britain hosted the short course worlds four months before the Olympics, Team GB collected 24 medals.
The Brits are not likely to reach their 2008 tally at this December’s championships, but will be bringing 12 stars who are all likely to walk away with some hardware. All of them won medals at this past summer’s Commonwealth Games, including 15 gold medals.
Hannah Miley is the reigning 400 IM short course world champion, and won bronze in the 200 IM in 2012. Fran Halsall is the other returning member of Great Britain’s team with world championship hardware from 2012, a silver in the 50 free.
