Grant House Returns To High School Stomping Grounds With Pair Of Swift Performances In Alumni Meet
As one of the leaders of the Arizona State program, Grant House has been a key in the Sun Devils’ rise to No. 1 in the country in the latest dual-meet poll released by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. House, though, has not forgotten his scholastic roots and recently put on a show at the St. Xavier pool in which he excelled as a high school standout.
As part of a trip home, House established a pair of pool records during the St. Xavier Alumni Meet. In addition to popping a mark of 19.74 in the 50-yard freestyle, House checked in with a performance of 53.99 in the 100 breaststroke. House is a 2017 product of St. X, which has long featured one of the top high school programs in the nation.
In the coming months, House will turn his attention to the Pac-12 Championships and NCAA Championships, where he will play a prominent role. House ranks among the country’s top performers in several events, including the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley. He’ll also serve as a major cog on several Arizona State relays that have NCAA-title potential.
Thank You to all the alumni who came last night to the Alumni Meet! Strong showing. It was great to see everyone. 2 new pool records set by Grant House ‘17. 19.74 in the 50 Free and 53.99 in the 100 Breaststroke. See you next year!
