Shannon Lumbra Shines As Georgia Tech Sweeps Emory

Georgia Tech hosted Emory on Saturday in their final dual meet of the season. The Yellow Jacket women beat the Eagles 131.5-106.5, while the men defeated Emory 147-82.
The Yellow Jackets began the meet with both the women (3:48.65) and men (3:18.85) winning the 400 medley relay.
Georgia Tech swept the men’s 1000, led by Moises Loschi (9:22.10). They also swept the men’s 200 fly, led by Ben Southern (1:49.63), as well as the men’s 200 back, led by Yuval Safra (1:49.90).
Iris Wang won the women’s 200 free (1:50.49) and 100 free (50.58). Alex Reiger won the women’s 50 free (23.79) and 200 back (2:02.76)
Rodrigo Correia won the men’s 200 free (1:38.96) while Youssef Hammoud won the men’s 100 free (45.69).
Other Georgia Tech event winners included Noah Harasz in the men’s 50 free (20.29), Kira DeBruyn in the women’s 400 IM (4:30.53), Colt Williamson in the men’s 400 IM (4:06.76), and Laura Branton in the women’s 200 fly (2:05.68).
Shannon Lumbra swept both the women’s 1m (321.15) and 3m (340.65), setting new Georgia Tech program records in both. Brad Homza also set a new program record in the men’s 1m (379.20), while teammate Omar Eteiba won the men’s 3m (391.73).
“I thought both of our squads raced really well,” Yellow Jacket head coach Courtney Shealy Hart said in a Georgia Tech press release. “It’s great to see some great swims as we get into championship season.”
The Yellow Jackets will compete next at the ACC Championships in Greensboro.
