Georgia Tech Swimming Sweeps Cincinnati in Florida
FT. MYERS – Georgia Tech swimming put up a pair of victories against Cincinnati during winter training in Fort Myers, Fla. The men won, 217-104, while the women picked up a 178-142 victory.

Yuval Safra paced the men, while Kira de Bruyn led the women’s effort as the Georgia Tech swimming & diving teams posted decisive victories over the University of Cincinnati on Saturday in Ft. Myers, Fla.
The men improved their dual-meet record to 7-3 with a 217-104 win over the Bearcats. The women upped their record to 6-7 with a 178-142 triumph. The Tech men won 13 of the 14 events, with the women taking 11 of the 14.
Women’s Highlights
• Carly Sweeney, Efrat Rotsztejn, Kira de Bruyn, Chiara Ruiu won the 400 medley relay in 3:54.87
• MaryKathryn Terry took the 1,000 free in 10:36.05
• de Bruyn’s strong effort continued with win in the 100 free (53.96) and the 400 IM (4:30.65)
• Alex Rieger led a sweep of the top three places in the 200 back with her winning time of 2:04.78
• Carly Sweeney claimed the 100 back as Tech took the top five spots in the event
• Kate Brandus, Frederique Lefebvre and Jaclyn Rohal finish first, second and third in the 200 fly, and Brandus also won the 100 fly in a time of 59.05
• Rotsztejn (2:24.70) and Caroline Richards (2:27.93) were the top two finishers in the 200 breast
• Ruiu, Rotsztejn, de Bruyn and Erika Staskevicius teamed to win the 200 free relay in 1:38.87
Men’s Highlights
• Brian Woodbury, Mark Sarman, Ben Southern, Andrew Kosic took the 400 medley relay in a time of 3:24.29
• Yuval Safra had a big meet as the junior won the 1,000 free (9:22.11), the 200 back (1:49.09) and the 400 IM (4:01.71)
• Noah Harasz won the 200 free in a time of 1:41.81, and also helped the 200 free relay to victory with Kosic, Chetcuti and Youssef Hammoud
• Kosic won the 100 back (50.46) and the 100 free (44.91)
• Hammoud was second to Kosic in the 100 free (46.06) and won the 50 free (21.54)
• Sarman, Ricky Lehner and Alex Kimpel went 1-2-3 in the 100 breast, and Sarman won the 100 fly in a time of 51.19
• Southern claimed the 200 fly (1:52.52), Kimpel took the 200 breast (2:07.33)
