Georgia State Runner-Up Lila Lillie Gives Verbal to Arizona
NEW COMMIT: Peachtree City, Georgia native Lila Lillie has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Arizona and will arrive in Tucson in Fall 2024.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Arizona! I want to thank my teammates, friends, family, and coaches for their endless support! I would also like to thank the coaching staff at Arizona for giving me this amazing opportunity. I’m so excited to become a Wildcat!”
A Junior National qualifier, Lillie does her club swimming with SwimAtlanta and earned three best times at Juniors East back in December. Last summer, she finished fifth in the 50m back at the Georgia Long Course Senior Championships, also taking ninth in the 100m back.
Her best times include:
- 50 back – 25.17
- 100 back – 55.12
- 200 back- 2:01.03
- 100 fly – 56.21
A rising senior at McIntosh High School, Lillie is a four-time individual Georgia 1-5A State Championship finalist. She was the runner-up in the 100 back in 2023 and earned bronze in the 100 fly, a year after taking second in both of those events as a sophomore.
Arizona is coming off a sixth place team finish at the 2023 Pac-12 Championships.
