Georgia State Champ Nicholas Mahoney Commits to Xavier University

Long axis swimmer Nicholas Mahoney has committed to swim for Xavier University. Mahoney is a senior at North Gwinett High School and swims for SwimAtlanta.
He said of his decision,
“Extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to Xavier University to continue my academic and swim career. Can’t wait to be part of such a great team, and work with such a fantastic coaching staff. Thanks to all my coaches, friends, and family who have helped me throughout the process! #LetsGoX”
His best times are:
- 100 Back 52.90
- 200 Back 1:51.26
- 200 Free 1:42.67
- 500 Free 4:34.43
- 1000 free 9:30.58
Mahoney is the Georgia Short Course State 100 freestyle champion. He is also the 200 and 500 freestyle North Gwinett High School record holder as well as a member of the team’s 400 freestyle school record. Mahoney was also named Georgia High School first team all state.
Xavier finished third in the Big East this year. The team was led by Matthew Dyer who won the 100 backstroke.
