Georgia Scores Another For 2026 From Breaststroker/IMer Abby King

NEW COMMIT: U.S. Open qualifier Abby King of Mount Kisco, New York, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Georgia beginning in Fall 2026.

She will join Grace Hunt, Brooke Bennett and Virginia Hinds as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2030.

She told Swimming World:

“I am absolutely excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Georgia!! I would love to say thank you to my family, my friends and my coaches at RAC, especially Emmanuel for the constant encouragement and support! Finally, the biggest thank you to all of the coaches at UGA, Stef, Fernando and Jerry for this amazing opportunity! So excited to be part of a team that already feels like home!! Go Dawgs”

King, who trains year-round with Ridgefield Aquatic Club, is primarily a breaststroker and IMer. She last competed at Juniors East where she raced three events. Prior to that, she finaled in the 200 IM at Toyota U.S. Open.

Last summer, she had a trio of top-8 finishes at Connecticut Seniors before going on to race at Speedo Summer Championships.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:03.55
  • 200 breast – 2:14.50
  • 200 IM – 2:04.88
  • 400 IM – 4:22.07
  • 200 fly – 2:02.06

King is currently a junior at School of the Holy Child Rye.

Georgia finished fifth at the 2024 Southeastern Conference Championships.
