NEW COMMIT: Jacksonville, Fla. native Ansen Meyer has pledged his verbal commitment to Georgetown University and will suit up for the Hoyas in the fall of 2021.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am proud to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Georgetown University! Georgetown has a combination of stellar academics and swimming and I cannot wait to join the team next fall. I would like to thank my parents and coaches who have helped me reach this point. HOYA SAXA!!!”

A talented breaststroker and sprint freestyler, Meyer does his club swimming with Bolles School Sharks and is a Junior National qualifier. He most recently placed 11th in the 200m breast at Plantation Sectionals after earning two best times at Juniors East in December.

Last summer, he registered three top-12 finishes at Gainesville Sectionals before going on to race to 21st in the 100m/200m breast combo at Greensboro Futures.

His best times include:

  • 50 breast – 26.46
  • 100 breast – 56.33
  • 200 breast – 2:06.27
  • 50 free – 20.98
  • 100 free – 46.82
  • 200 IM – 1:56.01

Also competing for the Bolles School, Meyer is a six-time Florida 1A State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 100 breast and placed fourth in the 50 free as a junior while taking fourth in the 100 breast and ninth in the 200 IM during his sophomore season.

Meyer will add valuable depth both individually and on relays when he arrives in Washington, D.C. as a member of the Hoyas’ class of 2025. He would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100 breast and 50 free as well as the B-final of the 200 breast at the 2020 Big East Championships where Georgetown finished second overall in the team standings.
