Gator Swim Club’s Leah Reisker Announces 2020 Verbal to Duquesne University
NEW COMMIT: Gainesville, Fla. native and current high school junior Leah Reisker has given Duquesne University their first verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season.
Reisker swims year-round with Gator Swim Club and most recently competed in four events at NCSAs. She registered six top-12 finishes at the Florida Spring Championships and capped off her long course season with four second swims at Gainesville Speedo Sectionals this past summer. Also competing for F. W. Buchholz High School, Reisker is a five-time Florida 4A State Championship finalist. She placed fifth in the 200 free and ninth in the 100 free as a junior after finishing 10th in the former during her sophomore season.
She told Swimming World:
“I am beyond excited to have verbally committed to Duquesne University! I cannot express how perfect the school is for me in academics and I’m thrilled to be continuing my swimming career under Coach Dave Sheets. Thank you to all my friends, family, and coaches for helping me along this journey. Go Dukes!”
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.96
- 100 free – 51.50
- 200 free – 1:50.27
- 100 back – 56.76
- 200 back – 2:03.31
- 100 fly – 57.36
Resiker will add valuable backstroke and sprint free depth to the Dukes’ roster when she suits up for them as a member of the class of 2024. She would’ve scored in the B-final of both backstroke events as well as the 100/200 free at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Conference Championships where Duquesne earned their second-straight team title.
