Futures Finalist Paige Taber Sends 2022 Verbal to Kentucky Wildcats
NEW COMMIT: The University of Kentucky has received their eighth verbal commitment for their growing Class of 2026 from Paige Taber of The Woodlands, Texas.
She will join Stella Todd, Lucy Reber, Lydia Hanlon, Grace Frericks, Marin McKee, Jordan Agliano and Breckin Gormley in Lexington as a member of the Wildcats starting in 2022.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Kentucky! I would like to thank my family, friends, coaches, and anyone else who has been part of my swim journey! Go Cats!”
Previously competing for Roadrunner Aquatics, Taber now swims for The Woodlands Swim Team and recently was the runner-up in the 200 back at the 18&U Winter Championships in December. In Summer 2019, she earned 100% best times at Santa Clarita Sectionals before going on to place 19th in the 100m back at Mount Hood Futures.

- 100 back – 54.28
- 200 back – 1:58.19
- 50 free – 24.47
- 100 free – 51.58
- 200 free – 1:52.97
- 100 breast – 1:04.70
- 100 fly – 59.80
- 200 IM – 2:04.49
Currently a junior at The Woodlands High School, Taber spent her first two years at Independence High School in California. She raced the 100 free at the CIF State Championships as a freshman after earning bronze in that event as well as the 100 back at the CIF Central Section Championships.
When she arrives in Lexington in the fall of 2022, Taber will add her talents to a backstroke group led by Caitlin Brooks, Torie Buerger, Lauren Poole, and Jodi Ogle. Under head coach Lars Jorgensen, the Wildcats finished third at the 2020 SEC Championships.
