Futures Finalist Morgan Bagnall of Bulldog Swimming Chooses Penn State
NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Morgan Bagnall of East Haven, Conn. has pledged her verbal commitment to Penn State University beginning in the fall of 2022.
She will join Krista Marlin as well as twin sisters Catherine and Julia Meisner as a member of the Nittany Lions’ Class of 2026.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Penn State University. Thank you to my friends, teammates, coaches and family for all the help and support. Can’t wait to be a nittany lion. #WEARE”
A distance freestyle specialist, Bagnall trains year-round with Bulldog Swimming and most recently earned four best times at the CSI LCM Senior Championships earlier this month where she recorded six top-14 finishes. She also placed fifth in the 800m free and sixth in the 1500m free at the ISCA International Senior Cup in March.
In August 2019, she finished ninth in the 1500m free, 10th in the 800m free, and 12th in both the 200m/400m free at Geneva Futures.
Her best times include:
- 200 free – 1:50.55
- 500 free – 4:53.78
- 1000 free – 10:05.31
- 1650 free – 16:44.36
- 200 IM – 2:06.65
- 400 IM – 4:31.24
Bagnall is a rising senior at Lauralton Hall High School.
Marlin is great pickup for Penn State, as she would’ve ranked No. 2 in the mile and No. 3 in the 500/1000 free on their lineup last season with a year of club swimming still to go before arriving in State College.
