Futures Champ Taylor Klein Pledges 2026 Verbal To Stanford

NEW COMMIT: Stanford University has scored another impressive verbal commitment for the 2026-27 season and beyond from Charlotte, North Carolina native Taylor Klein.

She will join Clare Watson on The Farm as a member of the Cardinal’s Class of 2030.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic careers at Stanford University!! Thank you so much to my family, friends, and coaches who have been there for me along the way. Thank you to Coach Greg, Kim, and Katie for giving me this opportunity. GO CARD”

Klein now trains year-round with Mecklenburg Swim Association after previously competing with SwimMAC Carolina. She won the 200m fly this past summer at Minneapolis Futures where she also earned bronze in the 200m back. She had six top-8 finishes at ESSZ Speedo Spring Championships in March, highlighted by a win in the 200m back.

Her best times include:

  • 200 fly – 1:57.81
  • 200 back – 1:56.83
  • 100 fly – 54.67
  • 100 back – 55.24
  • 200 free – 1:50.99
  • 200 IM – 2:02.97
  • 50 free – 23.78
  • 100 free – 51.89

Currently a junior at Charlotte Country Day School, Klein earned gold in the 100 back and silver in the 100 fly at the 2024 NCISSA State Championships. She was the runner-up in both events at the state meet during her freshman season.

Last year, Stanford finished third at the Pac-12 Championship and fifth at the NCAA Championship. The Cardinal now compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Kelin would’ve been Stanford’s third fastest 200 backstroker a season ago.
