Fordham Collects Class of 2025 Verbal Commitments from Maddie Bergin and Emilie Krog

NEW COMMITS: Fordham University has received their first verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from North Haven, Conn. native Maddie Bergin and Emilie Krog of Rodovre, Denmark.

Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I’m extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Fordham University! Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for helping me get to this point! #gorams”
A talented freestyler, Bergin swims year-round with Hamden Hall Aquatic Club and most recently registered six top-8 finishes at Connecticut SCY Seniors. Last summer, she placed fifth in the 50m free at Connecticut LCM Seniors while registering four lifetime bests.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.88
- 100 free – 52.23
- 200 free – 1:53.58
- 500 free – 5:02.60
Also competing for North Haven High School, Bergin is a six-time CIAC State Open Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American earned bronze in the 50 free and took fourth in the 100 free as a junior.
EMILIE KROG
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I’m extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at Fordham University. Can’t wait to be a Ram!!?”
Also a talented freestyler, Krog does her club swimming with Hovedstadens Svømmeklub and finaled in four events at the Danish National Championships in November. She earned 100% best times at the Danish Open last spring and had a pair of top-8 finishes at the 2018 South African National Aquatic Championships.

- 400m free – 4:22.30/4:51.67
- 800m free – 9:01.10/10:11.44
- 1500m free – 17:16.46/17:00.91
- 200m IM – 2:28.73/2:10.43
- 400m IM – 5:03.48/4:25.84
