The University of Florida Gators earned themselves a victory in the 4×50 free relay with an American record lead-off split from Caeleb Dressel (17.81). The rest of the squad, Jan Switkowski (18.52), Enzo Martinez (19.00) and Mark Szaranek (19.06) added up to a pool record of 1:14.39.
The NC State squad of Ryan Held (18.56), Justin Ress (18.31), Jacob Molacek (18.67) and Coleman Stewart (18.96) produced a 1:14.50 to break the old American record of 1:15.26. In third was California in a 1:14.56.
