Florida State Women Swim to Sweep of West Florida, North Florida

The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team hosted the Florida State invitational on Friday.

The Seminoles defeated the University of West Florida 226-73 and beat the University of North Florida 239-54. West Florida topped North Florida 214-79.

It was the first meet for the Florida State after an earlier invitational was cancelled because of Hurricane Helene.

The Seminoles won all but one of the events overall.

Florida State’s Alice Velden, Julia Mansson, Mabry Bishop and Maryn McDade won the 200 medley relay to start the meet in 1:42.25.

Bishop won the 100 butterfly (55.91).

Florida State’s Maddy Huggins won the 200 free in 1:49.17 and 400 IM (4:16.94). Isabelle Barger won the 100 backstroke (57.60). Jenny Bird won the 200 butterfly (2:06.82). Sarah Evans won the 50 free (23.73). Edith Jernstedt won the 100 free (51.13). Karlee Marusik won the 200 back (2:05.30). Evelyn Hall won 1-meter diving (277.65). Evy Rierderer won the 100 breast (1:05.36). Julia Brzozowski won the 500 free (5:03.08).

Florida State’s Gloria Muzito, McDade, Jenny Halden and Velden won the 200 free relay (1:34.34).

West Florida’s Riley MacVane won the 1000 free in 10:24.15.
