Florida State Picks Up Verbal Commitment from Hannah Womer
NEW COMMIT: Hannah Womer has verbally committed to the Florida State Seminoles. She’ll head to Tallahassee in the fall of 2018. Womer is a rising senior at Lelad High School in San Jose. She spent her sophomore year in New Jersey swimming for Berkeley and attending Chathan High School.
Womer told Swimming World,
“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to Florida State. I instantly fell in love with the team, the campus, and the coaches. I truly believe I found the perfect fit for me!! GO NOLES!!!”
Womer is a breaststroker and IMer, training with Quicksilver Swimming. Her top SCY times are:
- 100 Breast 1:02.63
- 200 Breast 2:14.75
- 200 IM 2:01.24
- 400 IM 4:19.18
- 50 Free 23.23
- 100 Free 51.64
Womer still has a year of high school and club swimming before she heads to the Sunshine State. She’s just four tenths shy of ACC scoring in the 100 breaststroke. She already has a 200 breaststroke and a 400 IM time that would have scored in the C final this year.
Sophomore Megan Brown was the highest finishing Seminole in the 400 IM. She’ll overlap with Womer for a year. Natalie Purnell is the only current member of the roster who scored in the 200 breaststroke and will still be around by Womer’s arrival.
Stephanie Holmes has also verbally committed to the Seminoles’ Class of 2022.
Small correction: it’s “Leland,” not “Lelad” High School.
