Florida State Lands 2022 Verbal Commitment from Junior National Qualifier Jaydon Cunningham
NEW COMMIT: Florida State University has picked up a verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season from Junior National qualifier Jaydon Cunningham of Chesapeake Beach, Md., who announced his decision via social media.
He will arrive in Tallahassee as a member of the Seminoles’ Class of 2026.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I’m honored to announce my verbal commitment to Florida State University to further my swim and academic career. I’m very thankful to all my family, friends, and coaches for guiding me through this process. Go Seminoles!”
A talented breaststroker and IMer, Cunningham swims year-round with Naval Academy Aquatic Club and owns the Junior National standard in both the 100 and 200 breast. He most recently recorded seven best times at Maryland Seniors where he was the silver medallist in the 100 breast and 200 breast.
He also raced six events at NCSAs in March 2019 where he earned one best time.
His best times include:
- 100 breast – 55.19
- 200 breast – 2:01.71
- 200 IM – 1:52.27
Cunningham is currently a junior at Northern High School.
