The quartet of Alessandro Miressi, Paolo Conte Bonin, Leonardo Deplano and Thomas Ceccon led throughout and stopped the clock 0.28secs inside the previous WR of 3:03.03 set by the United States in Hangzhou in 2018. It also sliced 0.36 off the European mark of 3:03.11 set by Russia four years ago in Hangzhou.
