Five-Star Caitlin Hamilton Commits
BLOOMINGTON, Illinois, November 3. SWIMMING World five-star recruit Caitlin Hamilton, who swims for Waves BNY Swimming and preps at Normal Community, is sticking close to home during her collegiate years.
Hamilton, who has U.S. Olympic Trials cuts in the 400-meter free (4:18.46) and 800-meter free (8:48.69), will make West Lafayette, Ind., home as she becomes a Purdue Boilermaker next year. The distance specialist also already clears the NCAA Division I B cut standard in the 1650-yard freestyle with a 16:25.45.
"I chose Purdue because it fit my needs on both a swimming and academic level," Hamilton told Swimming World. "During my visit, I fell in love with the team and coaches, and could really see myself enjoying my college years there. Coach John [Klinge] has so many great goals for this team, and I can't wait to get there and be a part of a team that is moving towards a higher stage, not only at the Big Tens but at NCAAs as well."
Hamilton, who was featured by Swimming World in the College Recruit Rankings Profile series, is the first public pledge for the Purdue women's team.
