Six Masters World Records Broken at Bumpy Jones Classic
Five individual Masters world records and one relay record were set earlier this month at the Bumpy Jones Classic in Sarasota, Fla. Jean Troy took down four records in the 90-94 women’s age group, while Diann Uustal broke won for the 70-74 women.
At the long course meters event, Troy posted times of 52.09 in the 50 free, 2:43.03 in the 100 breast, 4:18.85 in the 200 free and 1:14.04 in the 50 breast. She was representing Sarasota Y Sharks Masters.
Uustal, who broke several USMS records at the spring national championships in April, posted a time of 35.56 in the 50 fly to break her own world record while competing for New England Masters.
Additionally, a Sarasota Y team of Jack Groselle, Rick Walker, Laura Groselle and Kelly Parker-Palace took down the world record in the mixed 800 free relay in the 240+ division, finishing with a final time of 9:54.42.
