FINIS-Sponsored Aussie Stars, Including Cam McEvoy and Shayna Jack, Set For Clinic This Weekend
Later this week, several hundred Australian youngsters will get the unique opportunity to spend several hours with a handful of their country’s top swimmers. Through FINIS, five standout athletes will conduct a clinic and Q&A session, with the likes of Cam McEvoy, Shayna Jack and Meg Harris headlining the event on Oct. 21 at Sheldon College in Brisbane.
Young swimmers will start the day by working with the professional athletes during a two-hour session. Athletes will work at a variety of stations and cycle through work with the pro athletes. In addition to McEvoy, Jack and Harris, Olympian Georgia Bohl and New Zealand standout Michael Pickett will be in attendance to support the aspiring swimmers.
Following the clinic, the doors will open to the public and a Q&A session will take place, with the swimmers talking about more than their careers in the pool. That aspect of the event will be followed by a 4×50 mixed freestyle relay, where the athletes will race in the new HydroX suit developed by FINIS.
A meet and greet and autograph session will conclude the day.
McEvoy, Jack and Harris all earned gold medals as part of Australia’s superb showing at last summer’s World Championships in Fukuoka. McEvoy was the gold medalist in the 50-meter freestyle, an effort that established him as the gold-medal favorite on the road to next year’s Olympic Games in Paris.
