LIVERMORE – FINIS is seeking a marketing coordinator responsible for public relations initiatives for FINIS Inc. A primary focus of this position is to create, manage, and implement PR campaigns with the goal of enriching FINIS’s position in the public eye. This role will include maintaining strong relationships with media reps, overseeing new athlete acquisition, maintaining close relationships with current athletes to ensure that needs are met, seeking opportunities to promote athletes and their accomplishments, and focusing efforts on expanding and aligning the brand globally.
Marketing Coordinator, Public Relations & Sponsored Athletes, Job Requirements
• Plan and direct public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image
• Identify, develop, and execute a communications strategy for key media contacts
• Identify, develop, and execute a communications strategy for launching new products
• Copy-edit, proofread, and revise communications
• Create and deliver timely and useable press releases and media relations content
• Create company literature and other forms of communication
• Develop the overall athlete and marketing strategy
• Align individual athlete goals with domestic and international marketing strategies
• Identify new talent and monitor performance of top athletes
• Create a marketing, communication, and performance plan for each sponsored athlete
• Negotiate athlete agreements and contracts, including performance expectations and goals, retainer, bonus, branding rights, availability, schedule, and usage rights
• Drive external communication of branded, on-message athlete stories
• Proactively utilize international athletes while traveling and competing in the business unit
• Manage budgets, contracts, and invoice payments for athletes
• Serve as liaison to Europe counterpart for EU public relations and athlete opportunities
Required Skills For Marketing Coordinator, Public Relations & Sponsored Athletes
• BA or BS degree required
• 1-2 years of experience in PR/marketing
• Must be a confident communicator and presenter
• High understanding of swimming community and swimming technique
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must possess excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Possess problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships
• Be proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with an attention to detail
• Possess the ability to keep information confidential
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude
• Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
• Familiar with working in a team dynamic and good at collaborating with others
• Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator experience a plus
• Proficient at Microsoft Office
FINIS is also seeking a marketing coordinator responsible for the company’s events, trade shows, and physical brand presence. This role will require working closely with the sales and global dealer/distributor network to deliver marketing collateral and enhance the brand presence, ensuring that the in-store and online brand presence is clear and visible and focusing efforts on expanding and aligning the brand globally.
Marketing Coordinator, Events & Merchandising, Job Requirements
• Manage and create a marketing strategy and purpose for global, company-sponsored events to promote impactful brand exposure, awareness, and identity worldwide
• Conduct all internal and external communication and coordination among company representatives and external dealers, partners, and distributors concerning event-related activities
• Establish future events that will evolve into new sales leads, marketing opportunities, and brand awareness in targeted markets
• Implement creative marketing strategies and tools across all events and physical and digital cross-promotion through physical and online marketing
• Work with Marketing Manager and business units to determine event budgets
• Manage event budgets
• Attend events as needed to represent and promote the brand
• Negotiate event agreements and contracts, including participation level, expectations, and goals
• Build planogram and visual floor merchandising for all trade shows, event presence, and in-store merchandising
• Work closely with Sales to understand and deliver content/collateral to support new and existing sales initiatives
• Develop strategy to effectively and efficiently distribute marketing materials and collateral
• Seek new and creative ways to increase brand awareness in retail environments
• Ensure that dealers, distributors, coaches, and end users have the appropriate collateral to understand the entire FINIS product line
• Collaborate with marketing team members in creative brainstorming for all marketing efforts: campaigns, advertisements, promotions, and strategy
• Serve a liaison to Europe counterpart for EU merchandising and event/trade show opportunities
Required Skills For Marketing Coordinator, Events & Merchandising
• BA or BS degree required
• 1-2 years of experience in event coordinating and/or retail merchandising
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; previous contract writing experience is a plus
• Must possess excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Be proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with an attention to detail
• Outgoing and comfortable in public speaking
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator preferred
• Possess problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Familiar with working in a team dynamic and good at collaborating with others
• Proficient at Microsoft Office
• Resourceful and self-sufficient
