FINIS Captures Open Water Talent Kane Radford
LIVERMORE, California, January 23. FINIS, a world leader in technical swimming products, announces the sponsorship of New Zealand’s open water swimmer, Kane Radford.
Radford is arguably one of the most exciting young swimmers to watch race in the sport of open water. He was selected for the Men’s 10k in the 2012 Olympics but did not meet the qualification standards of his federation to be sent to the Games. He is poised to make another run at the Olympics in Rio 2016. Radford has had success on the International circuit, being twice selected for the Jr. World Championships Team (2006, 2008) as well as competing in the Open Water World Championships on five occasions (2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013). Radford is also well known for winning the star-studded Tiburon Mile event, where he first found victory in 2009, before becoming the back-to-back champion (2011, 2012) of the one mile swim.
“Kane is an athlete that adds electricity to every event he is a part of,” says FINIS CEO, John Mix. “He is a total gamer and a true racer. The more that is stake and the more he is pushed, the better he performs. I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen Kane gut through a tough finish to win the race in the last few hundred yards. He is more than welcome on our team and I’m glad we have the opportunity to work with him.”
