Faces Of The Meet: 2016 Eastern Championships
If you’ve ever spent time at a swim meet you might notice that there is a lot more going on than just swimming and diving. Sure those two aspects are fairly crucial (it is why the meet is happening in the first place) but there is a larger organization at work beneath the surface: parent volunteers.
Without parent volunteers, or others associated with the team, meets wouldn’t be able to run on an official level. There would be no timers, no announcers, no hospitality room, the list goes on and on. So Swimming World would like to take a moment to thank all of those volunteers for the hours that you put in to helping your kid’s swim meet run smoothly.
While spending the weekend streaming the 116th Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championships Swimming World had a chance to walk around and take note of some of the volunteers who helped make this year’s championship meet such a success. Many of the volunteers were from Germantown Academy, the official host of the meet, while parents from other schools helped fill in the gaps.
Congratulations volunteers to another successful Easterns meet!
