NEW COMMIT: Orinda, Calif. native Eloise Engs has opted to stay in-state next fall by verbally committing to UC-Davis and will join the class of 2023.

Engs does her club swimming with Orinda Aquatics and capped off her long course season with a pair of best times at Western Zone Seniors in July. She raced three events at Carlsbad Speedo Sectionals and won the 200 free at the Memorial Summers End Classic. Engs has been a key relay swimmer for Miramonte High School at the CIF State Championships during her sophomore and junior seasons. She also placed 11th in the 100 free and 14th in the 200 free at CIF-North Sections last season.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at UC Davis. A huge thanks to my family, friends, and coaches for supporting me through this process. Go Aggies!!!”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.44
  • 100 free – 52.49
  • 200 free – 1:54.35
  • 200 IM – 2:09.81

When Engs suits up for the Aggies next fall, she’ll join a sprint group that includes Jamie Pinyin and Mia Cunnan. She would’ve scored in the C-final of the 100 free at the 2018 MPSF Championships where UC-Davis finished third in the team standings.
