East Carolina Aquatics’ Svea Torres Verbally Commits to Arkansas
NEW COMMIT: East Carolina Aquatics’ Svea Torres has verbally committed to continue her swimming career at the University of Arkansas. The DH Conley High School senior is primarily a sprint freestyler.
Her best SCY times are:
- 50 Free 23.28
- 100 Free 51.20
- 200 Free 1:50.81
- 100 Breast 1:05.80
At the 2017 North Carolina 4A High School state championships Torres touched sixth in the 50 freestyle (24.17) and ninth in the 100 free (52.40). She also anchored her team’s seventh place 200 freestyle relay in 23.84.
Torres wrote on Instagram,
“Beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Arkansas!!! I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t have such amazing family, friends, and coaches helping me along the way!! Go Hogs!!”
She’ll join a sprint free group that will include seniors Erin Kelly (51.11/23.30, 33rd in the SEC) and Kiera Michailoff-Russell (51.40/23.67). Dalton Chambliss (51.10) will be a junior when Torres arrives next fall.
