Dynamo bested the record set by the Cincinnati Marlins the night before at the Ohio Junior Olympics. The Marlins lowered their own mark set last year to a 4:03.15. Their splits were rather impressive:
Carson Foster – 1:01.08
Jake Foster – 1:05.33
Matthew Sims – 1:00.07
Jacob McDonald – 56.67
A look at Dynamo’s splits show the difference ultimately came on the freestyle leg, where Cam Auerbach’s split was nearly two seconds faster than McDonald’s.
Ian Grum – 1:02.22
Liam Bell – 1:05.51
Mark Rotolo – 1:00.08
Cam Auerbach – 54.78
