Dylan Boyd, a senior at Ravenscroft High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, has verbally committed to swim for the University of Wisconsin at Madison for the 2017-2018 season. Boyd specializes in freestyle and butterfly, and swims year round for the YMCA of the Triangle Area (YOTA) Swim Team in Raleigh for Head Coach Chad Onken. Boyd moved to Raleigh from Illinois in May of 2016. While attending Lake Forest High School in Illinois he was the 2016 Illinois High School State Champion in the 200 Free (1:37.67).

Boyd is a native of Australia where he got his start in the pool. He will be joining a Wisconsin swim team that currently features four swimmers from the Australia-New Zealand area.

Dylan’s Best Times:

200 Freestyle SCY: 1:37.67
200 Butterfly SCY: 1:48.78
200 Butterfly LCM: 2:04.99
100 Butterfly SCY: 50.05

Boyd looks forward to the opportunity to swim collegiately in the US:

“The University of Wisconsin-Madison is a top 25 school in the world with an incredible swim program, unbelievably talented coaches and most importantly, amazing student-athletes. Coming from Australia where there is no sort of collegiate swimming recruitment process, Wisconsin has shown the importance of higher level swimming and how fast someone through proficient training and a clear vision can become. I am more than excited to dominate at Big 10’s and NCAA’s as a Badger and contribute to a winning team!”
