Dutch Junior Team Member Caspar Corbeau Lends Verbal to Longhorns
NEW COMMIT: Oregon’s top recruit for the high school class of 2019, Caspar Corbeau, has given his verbal commitment to the University of Texas. He made the announcement earlier this year on his Instagram:
Corbeau competes for the Tualatin Hills Swim Club in Beaverton, Oregon as well as Sunset High School in Portland. For the latter, he was a OSAA 6A State Champion in the 100 Breaststroke as a junior. For THSC, Corbeau has produced numerous top-eight finishes at Sectionals over the last three years.
He is also a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and member of the Dutch Junior National Team. Corbeau is currently competing at the European Junior Championships, where he has qualified for the finals of the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:14.60.
Corbeau’s Best Times:
- 200 Free – 1:38.10
- 100 Breast – 53.42
- 200 Breast – 1:55.97
- 200 IM – 1:50.48
At the 2018 Big XII Championships, Corbeau would have won the 200 Breaststroke and earned fourth in the shorter distance. He likely would have qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200 and would have been just out of scoring range.
Corbeau broke two minutes in this event for the first time 2017, and then dropped four seconds in 2018. He has made consistent drops every year and will look to do the same as a senior and for Texas.
The Longhorns have also received a verbal commitment for this class from Ohio standout Jake Foster.
Nice thanks :/
