Dutch Freestyler Loulou Vos Commits to Virginia Tech Class of 2022
Dutch swimmer Loulou Vos has committed to swim for Virginia Tech, beginning in the fall of 2018. Vos swims in London for the Hillingdon Swimming Club.
She has represented the Netherlands internationally. Vos swam for the nation at the 2013 European Youth Olympic Festival and at last year’s European Junior Championships.
Vos explained her decision,
“I fell in love straight away with Virginia Tech. I was blown away with the atmosphere of the team, the coaches, and all the facilities. I cannot wait to be part of the Hokie family! Go Hokies!”
Her best times are (converted to SCY from LCM):
- 100 Free 57.02 SCM/ 58.13 LCM (51.38)
- 200 Free 1:59.91 SCM/ 2:03.58 LCM (1:49.24)
- 400 Free 4:16.27/ 4:19.40 LCM (4:48.45)
- 800 Free 8:59.62 LCM (10:09.77)
Virginia Tech has a large incoming class that includes Joelle Vereb, Tatum Hackler, Molly Sheffield, Heather Sigmon, Nicole Pape, and Emily Meilus. That crew will be sophomores by Vos’ arrival in Blacksburg.
With two years to go until her first ACCs, Vos already projects to be a conference scorer. Her converted 400 freestyle time would make her a 500 freestyle B finalist.
