Duncan Scott, Matt Richards, Adam Peaty & Ben Proud Nominated All Nominated For Swimmer Of The Year At Aquatics GB Awards

Duncan Scott, Matt Richards, Adam Peaty and Ben Proud, have been nominated as the Swimmer of the Year at the The Aquatics GB Awards 2024.

Scott and Richards won individual silvers in the 200IM and 200 free respectively at Paris 2024 before joining forces with James Guy and Tom Dean as the quartet won an historic 4×200 free relay with the same four men who won at Tokyo 2021 retaining the title three years on. There is however no place on the shortlist for either Dean or Guy.

Peaty won silver in the 100m breaststroke as he claimed his sixth Olympic medal with Proud making the Olympic podium at his third Games as he too claimed silver in the 50 free.

Amelie Blocksidge, Max Morgan and Theodora Taylor are all up for Emerging Athlete of the Year.

David Hemmings, Ryan Livingstone and Steven Tigg, meanwhile, were all valuable members of the Olympic swimming coaching team that oversaw a return of one gold and four silvers from Paris and are nominated for Coach of the Year.

Stephen Clegg, Poppy Maskill, Maisie Summers-Newton and Alice Tai  are all nominated in the para-swimming category after becoming multiple Paralympic champions in Paris.

Tom Daley, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and Noah Williams all reached the Paris podium after brilliant platform displays as part of Team GB’s record-breaking diving performance and are nominated for Diver of the Year, while

Seasons of history for Kate Shortman, Isabelle Thorpe and Ranjuo Tomblin with the women’s pair earning the first GB duet medals at Olympic and world level in Paris and Doha respectively and Tomblin setting a new benchmark at the European Championships in Belgrade with the trio all nominated for Artistic Swimmer of the Year.

Katie Brown, Sophie Jackson, Kathy Rogers and Brooke Tafazolli are all recognised for helping the Aquatics GB women’s water polo team back to the World Championship stage by making the shortlist in their sport’s Athlete of the Year category.
