Four-time Olympic medallist Becky Adlington has announced the birth of her son, Albie, with partner Andrew Parsons.
It’s the second child for Adlington, who won double gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, who also has a five-year-old daughter Summer with ex-partner Harry Needs.
Adlington made the announcement on social media, saying: “Welcome to the world Albie Bennett Parsons ? 4.3.21 ?”
Messages of congratulations were sent from across the world of sport including Jo Jackson, who won bronze in the 400 free in which Adlington got gold, 2012 Olympic heptathlon champion Jess Ennis-Hill and 2016 200IM silver medallist Siobhan O’Connor.
